How it works: Network Artists

Are you thinking about becoming a Hope & Olive Network Artist?

Hope and Olive Inc. works with a network of Wisconsin based Permanent Makeup Artists to serve those who are entering the next season of life. Artists in our network gift their time, talent and materials to offer services to Recipients at no charge.

Below you’ll see an overview of how it works! If you are accepted into the Artist Network, you will receive an artist agreement with everything laid out in detail prior to you taking on Recipients.

FILL OUT AN APPLICATION

All potentital artists must complete the Network Artist Application. Your application is screened by our Artist Committee, and a Hope & Olive representative will reach out to you. Examples of your work are important!

When will my application be reviewed?

The Hope & Olive Inc. board of directors has a committee that reviews artist applications monthly. The committee meets the 3rd Wednesday of the month to review the prior month’s applications; therefore, please allow 30-45 days for a response.

Am I reimbursed for the work I do through Hope & Olive Inc?

Yes, the artists in our network are reimbursed a flat rate of $500 per service, which includes the initial appointment plus a touch up. Anything after that, the recipient would need to pay the artist out of their own pocket; or, the artist can donate the additional appointment(s) on their own. This is to cover materials and some of their time. With Hope & Olive Inc. being a 501(c)3 nonprofit, artists are able to write off their contributions if they choose to do so.

Where does the money artists receive for reimbursement for services come from?

Fundraising! The Hope & Olive Inc. board of directors and all of its committee members receive no pay; they are 100% volunteers. We have a fundraising committee and do fundraising events throughout the year to raise money to reimburse our artists. Artists are required to do fundraising in their own area and bring in a minimum of $2,000 per calendar year. This can be done in various ways (donating service reimbursements back to Hope & Olive Inc., Facebook birthday fundraisers, pledge forms, donating tips, friends and family donations, doing your own fundraiser, etc…). Hope & Olive board members also have fundraising requirements. Everyone works together for fundraising to support the mission of Hope & Olive Inc.

How will I know what to do once I am approved?

Once approved, you will receive an email and/or phone call from a member of the Hope & Olive Inc. artist network committee letting you know next steps. You will also receive an email with a Hope & Olive Inc. Artist Agreement as well as a request for additional information to include you on our website and social media. Nothing is official until we have received the signed artist agreement.

Are all artists who apply approved for the Hope & Olive Inc. artist network?

No, not all artists who apply are approved for membership. Hope & Olive Inc. has set standards for membership, as our artists are working with those who have gone through cancer, have alopecia, trichotillomania, are burn or human trafficking survivors, etc.; therefore, our 501(c)3 approval was contingent upon set standards to ensure quality in service.

How does the Hope & Olive Inc. artist committee decide who is approved or denied?

The Hope & Olive Inc. network artist committee has a standard rubric that is followed to ensure that all artists are reviewed in the same, respectable manner. We also rely heavily on the social media pages and websites of interested artists. We are not only looking for quality work, but a clean, sanitary and inviting environment for our recipients, as well as quality of images and professionalism.

Is there a fee for artists to be in the network?

No, there are no fees to be a Hope & Olive Inc. artist.

Why would I want to be in the Hope & Olive Inc. artist network rather than just donate my services on my own?

Hope & Olive Inc. is an approved 501(c)3 nonprofit organization; therefore, any donation to us is tax deductible. Also, we have a standard process for recipients to apply for a service just like we do for artists to be in our network. Hope & Olive Inc. has an entire board of directors committed to sending deserving recipients to you so you can spend your time running your business as you normally do. Hope & Olive Inc. is a respected, reputable organization in various communities around the United States. Hope & Olive Inc. still recommends that artists donate services outside of Hope & Olive Inc. as they see fit to continue to pay it forward.
